UK registered charity providing healthcare and education in rural central India
The Tulsi Trust has been providing essential basic medical care and state approved education to disadvantaged communities in the jungle areas of Chhattisgarh, central India.
From our base at the edge of the indigenous forest, our medical team provides everyday medical care as well as health and hygiene education and advice to local villages of tribal people and Bengali resettled refugees. Some of these communities deep in the jungle are very hard to reach and most of them receive very limited to no state medical care and education facilities.
We have connections to all major regional hospitals for referrals to specialists and surgeries.
The Tulsi Trust also helps to educate people on how to avoid common conditions like malaria and typhoid through education of the public and provision of mosquito nets and vaccines.
Having worked with the local communities since the early nineties, The Tulsi Trust is a trusted and respected organisation in the region, and also runs a state approved school.
Our aim is to provide as many local communities as possible with basic human facilities like access to emergency care and education in order to reduce poverty and facilitate a healthy, sustainable future for these people. We also strive to empower our local communities through grassroot education on topics like hygiene, natural and traditional medicine, and women's health.
